Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,
We live in horrendous times and I am glad that Canada and other countries evem more so have begun to help the Syrian refugees. Maybe 25,000 is a good bit of help but this is a crises that has created millions of refugees and, according to the New York Times the horrid death toll of about 470,000 Syrians.
This is not a war started by Syrians in Syria. This is one more atrocity created by the USA. Let`s first be aware of wars begun by the USA.
It is claimed, by the link above, that, out of 248 armed conflicts, the US has started 201 of them. That is a pretty gross number. This link also makes claim that these wars have cost 30 million lives and that 90% are children`s lives, the elderly and ordinary men and women.
The article goes on to claim that the wars started by the US have claimed many more lives than the Nazis during WWll. And, that the US has military positions in 130 nations and in over 900 bases. And this is according to Ron Paul.
For many generations now our `freinds`to the south has tricked it`s population and ours in Canada that the US is interested in creating good democracies across our poor world. I`m sorry but anyone believing this is out of touch with reality.
Let`s not go too far back and get into the horrendous Civil War that was said to be about freeing the slaves which is an absolute falsehood. Though slaves were freed this was not the true aim of that war. Nor shall we go back to the cruel Indian Wars that wiped out a good 60% of natives in the land being claimed by the US.
Vietnam including Cambodia and Laos:
Let`s first look at the Vietnam War that the US became involved in a major way in 1964 and was moved forward quickly by the false flag event as the US was staging its Seventh Fleet in the Bay of Tonklin. There was a supposed attack by the Vietnamese which later was proved false. I fear the same such thing is being slowly created in order to attack China upon another similar false flag hoax as the US badgers China even within China;s territorial waters with a US electronis spy ship very close to one of China`s most important military defence bases. If China had done anything this close to a US base anywhere on our globe there would have een hell to pay.
The point I`d like to make here is that this was a false flag that was turned into the reason to invade Vietnam. These lies to go to war are international criminal offences.
The outrage, of course, is that this extremely horrid wat claimed 2 million Vietnamese lives while the US continues to honour 55,000 dead American soldiers mostly fed into the war machine through the ignorance of the draft. This war lasted 11 long years and claimed lives in Cambodia in the millions because of the US bombing of Cambodian civilians and because this led to the rise of the Khmer Rouge that murdered millions of Cambodians as the US vetoed any UN aid at every chance. It took the Vietnamese to clear out the Khmarr Rouge and the leader Pol Pot.
Let`s remember that all wars have casualties outside of the war itself and that this is especially true of the Vietnam War. Included in the casualties are caused by the Vietnam war are the hundreds of thousands of casualties in Laos; a war brought to life by the shooting death of a protestor at Kent State University.
Laos is an extreme war crime by the US and the casualtied from the cluster bombs is an increasing number because so many of these bomblets have not yet blown up. At least 22,000 casualties have been counted since the end of the Vietnam War in Laos and that count will continue to rise as there are still casualties and wounded of about one hundred per year. The US has not cleaned up this horror of a mess.
In Laos, as in Vietnam, these cluster bombs were dropped by B-52 aircraft fly so high as to be out of sight. Most people working in their fields did not know of an attack until the bombs began blowing up – they had nowhere to run. In some ways, very cruel ones, this is the same as the drones used by Obama and this will carry on to be used by the nest US president no matter who wins the presidential `honour;!
WARS of the CIA:
Let`s forget the Hollywood image of American wars and the CIA and talk about the 6 million who hace died because of wars and other illegal manouvers by America’s, much adverstised as good, filthy CIA. Let’s get right to the point: This is a criminal organization of the American government and it’s actions are illegal and these actions take place all over our poor world and the CIA does murder people as does the criminal MOSSAD out of Israel.
THE SECRET WARS OF THE CIA:
by John Stockwell
A lecture given in October, 1987
“What I found with all of this study is that the subject, the problem, if you will, for the world, for the U.S. is much, much, much graver, astronomically graver, than just Angola and Vietnam. I found that the Senate Church committee has reported, in their study of covert actions, that the CIA ran several thousand covert actions since 1961, and that the heyday of covert action was before 1961; that we have run several hundred covert actions a year, and the CIA has been in business for a total of 37 years.”
“They don’t meet the death squads on the streets where they’re actually chopping up people or laying them down on the street and running trucks over their heads. The CIA people in San Salvador meet the police chiefs, and the people who run the death squads, and they do liaise with them, they meet them beside the swimming pool of the villas. And it’s a sophisticated, civilized kind of relationship. And they talk about their children, who are going to school at UCLA or Harvard and other schools, and they don’t talk about the horrors of what’s being done. They pretend like it isn’t true.”
Please go to the link and read. It is important.
Operation Mockingbird – CIA
This was a covert CIA action that was illegaly used to ‘influence’ the media in the 1950s. This action, prohibited in the US even, was organized by Cord Meyer(CIA) and Allen W. Dulles (CIA director) in the 50s. Later it was headed by Frank Wisner (Director of Plans CIA) when Dulles became the CIA head.
This scam recruited leading American Journalists to become a network to present the CIA views to the American people. The CIA also funded some student and cultural organizations and used magazines as fronts and followed up by influencing foreign media and political campaigns.
We certainly can see the evidence of influence of a dangerous politican agenda still happening in Venezuela. Notably many NGOs are fronts for the CIA even today.
Some known CIA collaborators are/were: William Paley of CBS, Henry Luse (Time and Life mags), Arthur Hats Sulzberger (New York Times), Alfred Friendly (Washington Post), Jerry O’Leary (Washington Star), Hal Hendrix (Miami News), Barry Bingham, Sr. (louisvilles Courier-Journal), James Copley (Copley News Services), Joseph Harrison (Christian Science Monitor).
Video- Operation Mockingbird: CIA — Terminated
Operation Northwoods was a series of false flag proposals that came out of the US government in 1962. They were rejected by the Kennedy administration.
However, these are the proposals of the CIA.
They idea was to create/commit acts of terrorism in the US and elesewhere and these acts were to be blamed upon Cuba in order to create a public need for the US to go to war against Cuba.
“Operation Northwoods was to “develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington”.”
This, of course, brings in the need to question the Boston Bombings, 911 and other so-called terror events. Mr. Trudeau some of these are being questioned today and another being questioned is the Man and Wife team that left their baby and went on to shoot their work friends at a party. I know what has been reported but now I’m willing to look at the questions raised since this type of thing is the type of thing the CIA most obviously does.
Video restricted viewing;
Project MKUltra was the code name for the covert research into behavioural engineering of humans more easily thought of as ‘mind control’. This was research done throught the CIA ‘Scientific Intelligence Division and it began in the early 1950’s; officially put to work in 1953; reduced in 1964 and further reduced in 1967; officially stopped (so they say) in 1973.
This, rather well known project, instituted by the rabid US government, engaged in some extremely illegal activities upon both US and Canadian citizens. This was big during the time that your father was Prime Minister in Canada.
In my research I found this! I expect that this pile of crap ought to be taken off the Internet as it is riddled with horrid lies. http://www.waterwarcrimes.com/prime-minister-pierre-trudeau—the-northern-magus—develops-the-art-of-resource-takeover-and-personal-enrichment.html
I find nothing of any sort of fact based comment that attaches PE Trudeau with MKUltra especially since Trudeau was angry with the US for its wars and its military. However, many people’s lives were seriously damaged by this CIA opperation and that ought not be forgotten.
The scope of MKUltra was huge and it included some 80 institutions including 44 colleges and universities as well as hospitals, prisons, and pharmaceutical companies, The CIA usually operated through front organizations so that many institutions were unaware of the CIA activities.
Video Does Not Exist;
Operation Paperclip was out of the precusor of the CIA the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and this operation was used to recruit the scientists of Nazi Germany for employment in the US after the ending of WWll. This was operated by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA) in preparation for becoming stronger than the USSR. The core ideal was to deny German science knowledge and expertice to the USSR and as well as the UK and it went far to create the division of Germany.
Even though President Truman issued orders not to include any Nazi party members this would have considerably reduced the eligable number of scientists and these would have included rocket scientists Werher von Braun, Kurt Debus and Arthur Rudolph and the physician Hubertus Strughold who had been earlier describes as a “menace to the secirity of the Allied Forces. In other words criminals were allowed freedom and good jobs to continue their adventures as respected men in the US.
This vast knowledge stolen by the US contributed to the Americans as others were left out. These are very dirty tricks by the US to push itself forward with advantage given by their theft at the end of the war in contradiction of their alliance with other countries fighting this war.
Thus began the Cold War and it was initiated by the USA.
This was the code name for the secret operation of NATO and was run in Europe during the Cold War. It was an anti-Russian action defiling communism in an effort to crush the Soviet interests around the globe. This was the beginning of the attacks upon Russia that remain prominent by the US today.
Gladio – gladius – is a form of Roman short sword.
Much is still unknown about this though it being investigated by both Switzerland and Belgium.
Now let’s move on to the vast criminal actions by the US/CIA throughout Central and South America.
CIA/USA Atrocities in Central and South America:
In these, mostly impoverished areas of the Americas, the USA has been most cruel and the number dead according to reasonable sources is around 6 million! Now that is one hell of a number so let’s get down to the actions of the CIA in these countries.
Much of the operations here are similar and run in the same manner for the same hideous reasons. Intitially American businesses are threatened by a popular democratically elected leader. The people support the leader because he/she intends to push through laws of land reform, to strengthen unions, to redistribute wealth, nationalize foreign owned industry and regulate business in an effort to protect workers, consumers and the environment. Some of these things that Canada has been failing more and more to not support. Are we beginning to run in favour of the wishes of the US, Saudi Arabia, China etc?
Often with business aid the CIA begins its dirty work. It recognizes right-wing groups within the country, sadly this has often been the military, and offers them a pudding of a deal. “You want power and wealth? You’ll get it if you promice to promote and to promote US businesses within your country.
The nest step is for the CIA, with US aid, to train certain segments of the population to help in the quick and efficient coup of the targetted country. The CIA uses various illegal methods with which to begin the eventual overthrow of the targeted country’s democratic government.
Propaganda is high on the list probably because it works so well at home in the US. But there are a lot of avenues the CIA covers when plotting a coup…stuffed ballot boxes, bought elections, blackmail, sexual intrigues, false stories about unwanted politicians in the local media, infiltration and disruption of opposing politicians and political parties, kidnapping, beatings, torture, intimidation, economic sabotage, death squads, assassinations are all up for use in the methodology of overthrowing a legitamate government in favour of US Interests. Also, more often or not the true politicians are labelled communist so that, at home in the US everyone feels that the righteous thing has been done and well worth the deaths of those damned commies.
Mostly those accused of being commies are just regular folk: peasants, liberals, moderates, labour union leaders, political opponents and those pushing for free speech and real democracy rather than the bull shit democracies propped up by the US.
Wide spread human rights abuses can be certain to follow an American induced coup.
These actions are taught in the infamous but rarely mentiones CIA “School of the Americas”. The knowlegable often refer to this school as the “School of the Assassins” and/or the “School of the Dictators”. In these ‘schools’ Latin America military officers and the like the ways inwhich to conduct coups and other little subjects such as torture, interogation, coups, muder and disappearing people.
“The Association for Responsible Dissent estimates that by 1987, 6 million people had died as a result of CIA covert operations. – Former State Department official William Blum correctly calls this an “American Holocaust.””
As always, at home both the CIA and the US government justify these actions of horror as actions against the devil communism. In fact these coups eventually, after years of death, lean a bit more toward communism than they did before the coup. However, the CIA never lraves and the American people always fear communism. Now that’s an indoctrination of over 300 million people in the US not to mention the wave of anti-communisn flooding over our borders into Canada,
Though these dictators are pleased to have been gifted by the US the total ability to abuse its citizens often it does not mean an ease for the criminal businesses supposed to be aided by the coup. The dictator often thinks he’s king and doesn’t help the US.
“CIA created — President Truman signs the National Security Act of 1947, creating the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Council. The CIA is accountable to the president through the NSC — there is no democratic or congressional oversight. Its charter allows the CIA to “perform such other functions and duties… as the National Security Council may from time to time direct.” This loophole opens the door to covert action and dirty tricks.”
Covert-action wing created — The CIA recreates a covert action wing, innocuously called the Office of Policy Coordination, led by Wall Street lawyer Frank Wisner. According to its secret charter, its responsibilities include “propaganda, economic warfare, preventive direct action, including sabotage, antisabotage, demolition and evacuation procedures; subversion against hostile states, including assistance to underground resistance groups, and support of indigenous anti-communist elements in threatened countries of the free world.”
Radio Free Europe — The CIA creates its first major propaganda outlet, Radio Free Europe. Over the next several decades, its broadcasts are so blatantly false that for a time it is considered illegal to publish transcripts of them in the U.S.
The CIA/MI6 overthrew the democratically elected Mohammed Mossadegh in a military coup after he decided to nationaliz British Oil. The reasons for nationalizing British Oil are multiple:
1. British Oil refused to pay the agreed royalties to Iran for the oil it took
2. Iranian oil workers were treated like crap – given oil barrels with which to make ‘homes’ in the desert which was intence with bugs in the rainy season
3. Iranians working in the offices of the oil company were allowed to rise so far and no furher in the heirarchy of the British business.
Beyond all these reasons it is a sovereign state and can do as it pleases within its borders.
The CIA then replaced the democracy with a puppet leader, dictator obligated to the US the Shah of Iran.
The CIA then, in 1957 created the secret police SAVAK that is said to have been as brutal as the Gestapo. Student protestors were thrown off the roofs of their school building to die on the streets below.
Finally, in 1979, students and just past students took over the US Embassy in Tehran. They didn;t want much. They wanted the US out of Iran and for the US to leave Iran alone in the future. Of course the US refused and the hostage taking went on for over 400 days.
About the inviolate status of the US Embassy in Tehran. It was no longer inviolate and had not been for years because of its creating the coup in the first place and the US illegal actions from then onwaed.
Because of the US hideous actions in so many countries I would think the US has lost any credibility of an inviolate status anywhere.
The CIA-USA overthrew the democratically elected Jacob Arbenz in a military coup. Arbenz had promoted the idea of nationalizing the Rockefeller-owned United Fruit Company in which the CIA Director Allen Dulles also owned stock. Arbenz was replaced with USA friendly right-wing dictators who killed about 100,000 Guatemalans over 40 years of hell set upon the country by the USA.
United Fruit owned about 75% of the aerable land in Guatemala. Most of the land unused but not availabe to Guatemalans. A lot of the land was taken through trickery (as happened in Israel in 1947-8 onward) and by force. The compamy paid workers pitiful wages even though the Rockefellers were wealthy (to say the least). These wages were paid in company script so the workers had to buy their needs at the Company Store at inflated prices. This meant that the company was of no value to the near villages as its script was useless to them. No economic overful for the people of Guatemal.
When the company was finally kicked out the damned US took the impoverished country to court and the court allowed the company millions of dollars from Guatemala. Rich protecting Rich as the poor suffer!
North Vietnam — The CIA, led by Edward Lansdale, spend many years trying to overthrow the communist government of Vietnam and he used all the dirty tricks (mentioned before in this article)in an illegal attack upon Vietnam. The CIA also backed the criminal government under Ngo Dinh Diem harsh rule of South Vietnam. This finally led to the false flag event in the Bay of Tonkin where the US 5th Fleet was concentrating for an attack upon North Vietnam.
Yes the CIA having failed in its illegal attempt to overthrow the government of North Vietnam the US decided to invade. This led to 2,000,000 Vietnamese deaths as compared to the 50,000 names of American soldiers (mostly drafted) on the black wall in Washington. Of course we won’t want to remember the massive amount of people murdered by American soldiers in this illegal war. Not to mention those in the surrounding countries of Cambodia and Laos not even in the war.
Hungary — ” Radio Free Europe incites Hungary to revolt by broadcasting Khruschev’s Secret Speech, in which he denounced Stalin. It also hints that American aid will help the Hungarians fight. This aid fails to materialize as Hungarians launch a doomed armed revolt, which only invites a major Soviet invasion. The conflict kills 7,000 Soviets and 30,000 Hungarians.”
1957-1973- Laos was a war rarely mentioned even after the Kent State event. Back then students actually protested and that’s not often seen these days.
The CIA tried and tried to overthrow the democratically leftist government led by Pathet Lao in Laos. He had too much popular support. In the late 50s the CIA created the “Armee Clandestine” full of Asian mercenaries (think of Libya, Syria in today’s world). This CIA army was continually defeated so the US began bombing this tiny country. More bombs were dropped there than all the bombs dropped by the US in WWll. One quarter of Laocians became internal refugees and many began living in caves. As I’ve mentioned earlier people are still wounded or killed by parts of cluster bombs still live in Laos. Over 20, 000 since the end of the ‘war’ and a hundred per year on average now.
Haiti – The US aides and abetts Papa Doc Duvalier become dictator of Haiti. He is helped to create his own ‘police force’ the “Tonton Macoutes” who terrorize the country with machetes. Over 100,000 murdered in this small country by the Duvaliers and the US does not – will not protest the human rights record.
The Bay of Pigs — The CIA sent 1,500 Cuban exiles to invade Castro’s Cuba in the Operation Mongoose which failed miserably. The planners had thought that the invasion would ignite a popular uprising from inside Cuba. That did not happen. Kennedy then fired the CIA Director Allen Dulles though its upon Kennedey’s grave the fault remains as it should. This was, as in most of the actions of this nature by the USA, profoundly illegal.
Dominican Republic — The CIA assassinated (IE: murdered) Rafael Trujillo who was a murderous dictator backed by the US since 1930. Trujillo business interests had grown hugely so that they had become strong competition for competing American businesses. He was not assassinated for his crimes only for his strong competition.
Ecuador — The CIA backed military forces the democratically elected President Jose Velasco to resign or die. The CIA replaced him with Vice President Carlos Arosemana.
Congo (Zaire)– The CIA assassinated (murdered) the democratically elected Patrice Lumumba. Nevertheless public support for the murdered leader runs very high and years of harsh turmoil followed thanks to the US.
Dominican Republic The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Juan Bosch in a military coup. The CIA installs a repressive, right-wing junta.
Ecuador– The CIA military coup overthrew President Arosemana whose policies did not appease the US. A military junta took over cancelling the 1964 elections.
Brazil — The democratically elected Joao Goulart was overthrown by a CIA coup. The following junta ruled then for a very bloody 20 years.General Castelo Branco created the first Latin American death squads which are bands of secret police etc that are to hunt down communists for torture, interrogation and murder. Communists are generally anyone daring to oppose the ‘government’ or are in the way for some reason.
Later it is found that the CIA trained the Death squads.
Indonesia — The CIA, who had been trying to overthrow Sukarno since 1957, finally was successfull in 1965. They had used a lot of the CIA dirty tricks including murder and sexual intrigue just because he had declared nuetrality in the Cold War.
He was replaced with General Suharto who massacred between 500,000 and 1 vmillion civilians he accused of being ‘comminist’ obviously happily endoresing the US. The CIA supplied countless names of suspects!
Dominican Republic — A popular rebellion breaks out, promising to reinstall Juan Bosch as the country’s elected leader. The revolution is crushed when U.S. Marines land to uphold the military regime by force. The CIA directs everything behind the scenes.
Greece — With the CIA’s backing, the king removes George Papandreous as prime minister. Papandreous has failed to vigorously support U.S. interests in Greece.
Congo (Zaire) — A CIA-backed military coup installs Mobutu Sese Seko as dictator. The hated and repressive Mobutu exploits his desperately poor country for billions.
The Ramparts Affair — The radical magazine Ramparts begins a series of unprecedented anti-CIA articles. Among their scoops: the CIA has paid the University of Michigan $25 million dollars to hire “professors” to train South Vietnamese students in covert police methods. MIT and other universities have received similar payments. Ramparts also reveals that the National Students’ Association is a CIA front. Students are sometimes recruited through blackmail and bribery, including draft deferments.
Greece — A CIA-backed military coup overthrows the government two days before the elections. The favorite to win was George Papandreous, the liberal candidate. During the next six years, the “reign of the colonels” — backed by the CIA — will usher in the widespread use of torture and murder against political opponents. When a Greek ambassador objects to President Johnson about U.S. plans for Cypress, Johnson tells him: “Fuck your parliament and your constitution.”
Operation PHEONIX – The CIA, in Vietnam helps to identify and then murder alleged Viet Cong leaders operating in South Vietnam villages. The murdered (no trial) about 20,000 accussed.
Operation CHAOS — The CIA had been illegally spying upon US citizens since 1959. (Let me impose here that nothing in all of this is legal) However, Pres Johnson hugely increased the actions of the CIA upon its own citizens and to identify student radicalls to spy upon and also to disrupt any campus organizations protesting the Vietnam War. Something in the nature that your government is working towards by the actions you are taking against the BDS movement.
They were interested in turning up Russian instigtors and they found none. CHAOS spied upon 7,000 individuals and 1,000 organizations.
Bolivia — The CIA organized a military intervention and they captured Che Guevara. The CIA wanted to interrogate him (torture him) but the Bolivian government had him executed. The Bolivan government that was US friendly.
Uruguay – CIA torturer went to Uraguay which was in a political mess. The CIA backed right-wing had ussually used torture as a last resort but this did not sit well with the USA/CIA. Some of the torture techniques he taugh were from the Nazis let live well by the US for their sharing of knowledge. Thankfully he was captured by revolutionaries and killed.
Cambodia — The CIA overthrew Prince Sahounek who was very popular among Cambodians because he kept them out of the Vietnam War (I believe it is still not reffered to as a war by the US officiadom) The CIA them put in the US puppet Lon Nol who immediately sent his soldiers to fight for the Americans in Vietnam. This led to uprisings within Cambodia and the eventual rise of the Khmer Rouge who, beginning on 1975 began the massacres and starvationof millions of people in Cambodia. Though the UN created resolutions to save Cambodians the US vetoed these resolutions and the people continued to die in massive numbers.
Bolivia — Following 10 years of CIA created turmoil a CIA backed military coup overthrew the left leaning President Juan Torres. In the following two years the dictator Hugo Banzer had over 2,000 political opponents arrest, given no trial, tortured, raped and executed. Way to go USA! (ass holes)
Haiti — “Papa Doc” Duvalier dies, leaving his 19-year old son “Baby Doc” Duvalier the dictator of Haiti. His son continues his bloody reign with full knowledge of the CIA.
The Case-Zablocki Act — Congress passes an act requiring congressional review of executive agreements. In theory, this should make CIA operations more accountable. In fact, it is only marginally effective
Cambodia — Congress votes to cut off CIA funds for its ‘secret’ war in Cambodia. Not so secret that Congress knew nothing about it. Just the people were not in the loop.
Wagergate Break-in — President Nixon sends in a team of burglars to wiretap Democratic offices at Watergate. The team members have extensive CIA histories, including James McCord, E. Howard Hunt and five of the Cuban burglars. They work for the Committee to Reelect the President (CREEP), which does dirty work like disrupting Democratic campaigns and laundering Nixon’s illegal campaign contributions. CREEP’s activities are funded and organized by another CIA front, the Mullen Company.
Chile — The CIA overthrows Salvador Allende who was the first democratically elected socialist leader. He committed suicide as the country fell to the CIA created coup that replaced democracy with the cruel dictator Augusto Pinochet. The CIA spent untold dollars on this coup and was supported by $10 million given by the Nixon government slotted toward propaganda.
This coup really was a huge propaganda machine that set various parts of the country against one and other as different lies were printed in different parts of Chile.
This is the beginning really of the CIA heavily investing into huge propaganda to separate various parts of the country to cause confusion and fear.
Pinochet was a murderer from dy one intil the end of his carrear after about ten years of horror in Chile.
He was continually a friend of both Nixon and the ruthless Kissinger and ther are quite a few photos that prove this. This means that both Nixon and Kissinger, if not the whole US nation, are complicit in the horros that crumpled this nation. Thousands were murdered and tortured and dissappeared while the US and the world looked on as if nothing was wrong.
CIA Director Helms Fired — President Nixon fires CIA Director Richard Helms for failing to help cover up the Watergate scandal. Helms and Nixon have always disliked each other. The new CIA director is William Colby, who is relatively more open to CIA reform.
CHAOS exposed — Pulitzer prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh publishes a story about Operation CHAOS, the domestic surveillance and infiltration of anti-war and civil rights groups in the U.S. The story sparks national outrage. (for a short while. Americans if anything don’t care for long on average)
Australia — “The CIA helps topple the democratically elected, left-leaning government of Prime Minister Edward Whitlam. The CIA does this by giving an ultimatum to its Governor-General, John Kerr. Kerr, a longtime CIA collaborator, exercises his constitutional right to dissolve the Whitlam government. The Governor-General is a largely ceremonial position appointed by the Queen; the Prime Minister is democratically elected. The use of this archaic and never-used law stuns the nation.”
Angola — Eager to demonstrate American military resolve after its defeat in Vietnam, Henry Kissinger launches a CIA-backed war in Angola. Contrary to Kissinger’s assertions, Angola is a country of little strategic importance and not seriously threatened by communism. The CIA backs the brutal leader of UNITAS, Jonas Savimbi. This polarizes Angolan politics and drives his opponents into the arms of Cuba and the Soviet Union for survival. Congress will cut off funds in 1976, but the CIA is able to run the war off the books until 1984, when funding is legalized again. This entirely pointless war kills over 300,000 Angolans.
Congress investigates CIA wrong-doing — Public outrage compels Congress to hold hearings on CIA crimes. Senator Frank Church heads the Senate investigation (“The Church Committee”), and Representative Otis Pike heads the House investigation. (Despite a 98 percent incumbency reelection rate, both Church and Pike are defeated in the next elections.) The investigations lead to a number of reforms intended to increase the CIA’s accountability to Congress, including the creation of a standing Senate committee on intelligence. However, the reforms prove ineffective, as the Iran/Contra scandal will show. It turns out the CIA can control, deal with or sidestep Congress with ease.
The Rockefeller Commission — In an attempt to reduce the damage done by the Church Committee, President Ford creates the “Rockefeller Commission” to whitewash CIA history and propose toothless reforms. The commission’s namesake, Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, is himself a major CIA figure. Five of the commission’s eight members are also members of the Council on Foreign Relations, a CIA-dominated organization.
Iran — The Shah of Iran (put in power by the USA/CIA and a US puppet falls to Muslims who are angry with the CIA operating out of the US embassy in Tehran and the CIA created secret police that were disappearing people torturing and murdering since the SAVAK creation by the CIA in 1957. The students (and just past students) took 52 Americans hostage in the US Embassy from which the atrosities were governed by the CIA. The Americans shredded much of this dicumentation and more was apparently burned that covered the actions of the CIA and others that were a part of this disgraceful embassy.
The students that took over the embassy wanted only about two things:
1. To admit to the crimes of the US/CIA.
2. To leave Iran alone in the future.
Afghanistan — The US with Zbigniew Brzezinski create al Qaeda and make Ossama bin Laden named the leader. This is all a plot by this new ‘Kissinger’ to get the Soviets to invade Afghanistan and to use al Qaeda to lengthen the war.
However, al Qaeda was advised that they were to be guided by the CIA to help to kick out the Soviets should they invade.
They created a war that lasted 10 years and killed many Afghanis. When al Qaeda finally got wind of the truth it was too late and they turned against the murdering monster USA!
The USA has been in and out of Afghanistan a lot in these past years and Canada, being very stupid and uninformed have tagged along in this criminal war upon Afghanis.
El Salvador — A vile right wing government in El Salvador that was US friendly was overthrown by a group of young military officers angry with the murderous ways of those in charge – the Christian Democratic Party. This failed because the US/CIA had the novices include the ‘old gguard in key positions. The massive killings then continued.
Nicaragua — The CIA/US backed dictator Anastasios Samoza II fell out of power. The Sandinistas led by Danial Ortega became popular as they were anti-poverty and worked hard to bing the down trodden up. They instituted land reform too; a hatred of the USA!
Samoza had a hated personal army called the National Guard and pieces of this army later became the Contras who became hugely backed by President Reagan and illegally supported and trained in the US as well as in Honduras.
The Republic of Nicaragua v. The United States of America (1986) ICJ 1 is a public international law case decided by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The ICJ ruled in favor of Nicaragua and against the United States and awarded reparations to Nicaragua. The ICJ held that the U.S. had violated international law by supporting the Contras in their rebellion against the Nicaraguan government and by mining Nicaragua’s harbors. The United States refused to participate in the proceedings after the Court rejected its argument that the ICJ lacked jurisdiction to hear the case. The U.S. later blocked enforcement of the judgment by the United Nations Security Council and thereby prevented Nicaragua from obtaining any actual compensation. The Nicaraguan government finally withdrew the complaint from the court in September 1992 (under the later, post-FSLN, government of Violeta Chamorro), following a repeal of the law requiring the country to seek compensation.
(I don’t wholely trust Wikipedea as its so easy for powerful entities to change. However, this part is essentially true.
The Court had 16 final decisions upon which it voted. In Statement 9, the Court stated that while the U.S. encouraged human rights violations by the Contras by the manual entitled Psychological Operations in Guerrilla Warfare, this did not, however, make such acts attributable to the U.S.
El Salvador — “The Archbishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero, pleads with President Carter “Christian to Christian” to stop aiding the military government slaughtering his people. Carter refuses.”
A bit later Archbishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero was shot through the heart while saying Mass.
The country devolved into civil war with the peasants in the hills fighting against the military government. The CIA and the US Armed Forces supply the military dictatorship with massive military and intelligence support.
CIA trained Death Squads infested the country creating such crimes as that of the El Mazote massacre of 1982 where between 700 and 1000 men, women, children were killed.
By 1992 with continued US support about 63,000 Salvadorans were killed.
Iran– With US encouragement and huge aid Iraq invaded Iran shortly after the US was kicked out of Iran for its viscious crimes against Iran. This is under Reagan, of course, with GHW Bush either in the position of head of the CIA or during his time as Vice Pres.
Tons of equipment and trainers were sent to Iraq to aid in this criminal invasion.
Also, Iraq was given everything needed, including experts to let/help Iraq create and to deliver poison gas in the war zone in Iran. Thosands of Iranian troops, defending Iran upon Iranian soil were killed with these illegal weapons.
Also, 100,000 Khurds in Iraq were killed with these weapons. Later GHW Bush would use the excuse of Chemical Weapons to invade Iraq as would his son GW Bush in his horrid presidency.
These are war crimes that include, not only Saddam, but both of the Bush presidents.
Iran/Contra Begins — The CIA began selling arms to Iran at high prices and used the profits to arm the Contras fighting the Sandinista government in Nicaragua. Reagan, of course!
The CIA “Freedom Fighter’s Manual” (of course ‘freedom’ that the US continues to include in its daiky farce) This manual included instruction on economic sabotage, propaganda, extortion, bribery, blackmail, interrogation, torture, murder as well as political assassination.
Honduras — The CIA gives to the Honduran military officers the “Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual – 1983” which teaches how to torture people. Obviously something the US is proficient at. The Honduran’s Battalion 316 uses these techniques with full CIA knowledge on thousands of leftists vying for a better country. At least 184 are murdered.
The Boland Amendment — The last of a series of Boland Amendments is passed. These amendments have reduced CIA aid to the Contras; the last one cuts it off completely. However, CIA Director William Casey is already prepared to “hand off” the operation to Colonel Oliver North, who illegally continues supplying the Contras through the CIA’s informal, secret, and self-financing network. This includes “humanitarian aid” donated by Adolph Coors and William Simon, and military aid funded by Iranian arms sales.
Eugene Hasenfus — Nicaragua shoots down a C-123 transport plane carrying military supplies to the Contras. The lone survivor, Eugene Hasenfus, turns out to be a CIA employee, as are the two dead pilots. The airplane belongs to Southern Air Transport, a CIA front. The incident makes a mockery of President Reagan’s claims that the CIA is not illegally arming the Contras.
Iran/Contra Scandal — Although the details have long been known, the Iran/Contra scandal finally captures the media’s attention in 1986. Congress holds hearings, and several key figures (like Oliver North) lie under oath to protect the intelligence community. CIA Director William Casey dies of brain cancer before Congress can question him. All reforms enacted by Congress after the scandal are purely cosmetic.
Of course the criminal North becomes a bloody hero in the US and makes millions bragging about his crimes on the talk circuit.
Haiti — Rising popular revolt in Haiti means that “Baby Doc” Duvalier will remain “President for Life” only if he has a short one. The U.S., which hates instability in a puppet country, flies the despotic Duvalier to the South of France for a comfortable retirement. The CIA then rigs the upcoming elections in favor of another right-wing military strongman. However, violence keeps the country in political turmoil for another four years. The CIA tries to strengthen the military by creating the National Intelligence Service (SIN), which suppresses popular revolt through torture and assassination.
1989 — The US illegaly invades Panama to arrest Noriega who was taugh, right out of high school in the School of the Americas.
Many, many civilians are killed in this illegal invasion by the US. All, is good though because they captured their buddy Noriega doing as he was told to do by the CIA. Seems Noriega was becoming too much his own man.
Noriega has been on the CIA’s payroll since 1966, and has been transporting drugs with the CIA’s knowledge since 1972. By the late 80s, Noriega’s growing independence and intransigence have angered Washington… so out he goes.
Haiti — Competing against 10 comparatively wealthy candidates, leftist priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide captures 68 percent of the vote. After only eight months in power, however, the CIA-backed military deposes him. More military dictators brutalize the country, as thousands of Haitian refugees escape the turmoil in barely seaworthy boats. As popular opinion calls for Aristide’s return, the CIA begins a disinformation campaign painting the courageous priest as mentally unstable.
The Gulf War — Saddam Hussein complains that Kuwaiti oil companies are slant drilling to take oil from Iraq’s deposits. The world ignores him and Pres GHW Bush tells him to take care of his own problems.
So Iraq invades Kuwait to stop the theft.
The US, GHW Bush respnds condemning the action by Saddam. Then GHW Bush sets up a young Kuwaiti girl to tell a story that has the Iraqi soldiers tossing babies in a hospital on the cement floor. GHW Bush has her repeat his story across the US. Of course the US population is angered and props up the GHW Bush initiative to invade Iraq.
The girl was a daughter of a Kuwaiti in the Kuwait embassy in Washiington. And the girl had not been in Iraq as she’d just returned from France. It was all lies made up by GHW Bush. This criminal offence was never dealt with by the US people who didn’t give a damn about the truth.
Then enters General Schwartzkopf who attacks the Iraqis leaving Kuwait. This is a massacre of huge proportions as Schwartzkoft attacked the muddled convoy with fighters jets strafing and firing missile not allowing anyone to survive. The pictures of this are truly horrifying but this general is ranked a hero by the Americans.
This is so much a war crime that it speaks volumes about the cruelty allowed by the average America supporting these crimes.
“The Fall of the Soviet Union — The CIA fails to predict this most important event of the Cold War. This suggests that it has been so busy undermining governments that it hasn’t been doing its primary job: gathering and analyzing information. The fall of the Soviet Union also robs the CIA of its reason for existence: fighting communism. This leads some to accuse the CIA of intentionally failing to predict the downfall of the Soviet Union. Curiously, the intelligence community’s budget is not significantly reduced after the demise of communism.”
Economic Espionage — In the years following the end of the Cold War, the CIA is increasingly used for economic espionage. This involves stealing the technological secrets of competing foreign companies and giving them to American ones. Given the CIA’s clear preference for dirty tricks over mere information gathering, the possibility of serious criminal behavior is very great indeed.
Haiti — The chaos in Haiti grows so bad that President Clinton has no choice but to remove the Haitian military dictator, Raoul Cedras, on threat of U.S. invasion. The U.S. occupiers do not arrest Haiti’s military leaders for crimes against humanity, but instead ensure their safety and rich retirements. Aristide is returned to power only after being forced to accept an agenda favorable to the country’s ruling class.
There is of course much much more to be written but I’ll have to stop here for now. I do hope that you, Mr. Trudeau will read and appreciate my work, along with others that I’ve read in encapsilizing this bit of horrid history reguarding the US and of which Canada has been culpable of backing and or ignoring.
I await yor reply.
